Look for: 3-lobed 1.5- 3.5 inch high/wide, lustrous dark green leaves, New growth often rich bronze transitions through purple to green in summer

Origin: East China, Japan

This relatively rare maple from China and Korea, called the Three-flowered Maple, has trifoliate leaves that are comprised of three leaflets. Look for the winged samaras that are the type of fruit produced by all maples. It is a choice small tree for residential landscapes because of its excellent gold, orange and scarlet fall color and peeling silvery tan bark. Height typically reaching maturity at 20 to 30 feet.
